Ink catridge and Installation

Ink catridge installation
  • Touching the electrical contacts and the print head nozzles on the cartridge might cause the printer to not print properly. Once you install the cartridge, do not remove it from the Canon printer and leave it outside for a long time.
  • Check if the printer is switched on and open the paper output tray. Lift the Scanning Unit/Cover and hold it open with the Scanning Unit Support. If there is an object on the Document Cover it might fall into the Rear Tray and cause the Canon printer to malfunction.
  • Take the ink cartridge from its package and discard the protective tape from it. Do not shake the cartridge too much as the ink may leak and spill in the nearby area. Insert the ink cartridge into the corresponding slot.
  • Place the color cartridge in the left slot and the black cartridge on the right slot. Close the cartridge locking cover and check if it is closed correctly. Raise the Scanning Unit to set it to its original position and carefully close the Scanning Unit.

  • If the paper jams and you need to turn off the printer to remove it, press the Stop button before switching off the printer. If the paper tears and you are unable to remove the jammed paper, carefully discard the paper using both hands.
  • Insert the paper into the tray and press the Black or Color button on the printer so that the printer starts printing again. Reprint the page and when reloading the paper, make sure you use suitable paper and place it correctly.
